A little about your hostess...

Hola!  Thanks for visiting the site!

I am a transplant from the US and moved to Mexico in 2017.  Although I consider magical San Miguel de Allende my home,  Manzanillo is my "home away from home".   The loves of my life are my two pups and they travel with me between the high desert and the  playa.

Born on the East coast, and having lived in the Caribbean, Japan, and along the entire west coast ("Best Coast") of the United States, I have always been drawn to the ocean and  have explored many beach communities in Mexico before landing in Manzanillo.  For me, I find other beach towns are over-run with crazy tourists on a mission to find their shaker of salt; the beaches are too crowded and it's sensory overload.; OR they are just too small for me.

Manzanillo, although Mexico's largest port (and Latin America's 5th largest port!!), has everything one needs to be comfortable but maintains its Mexican authenticity.  The water is clean and swimmable, there are some fantastic restaurants to accommodate everyone's culinary desires and budget, the long stretches of beaches are beautiful and tranquil and sparce .

The best part of Manzanillo, however, are the people, both the ex-pat community and the locals alike.  Kind. Warm. Welcoming. Respectful.  Appreciative of the life we get to live.

Casa Alegría is the newest chapter in my life, and it has been a labor of love.  Although perhaps still a bit of work-in-progress, the mixture of Mexican and Asian art represents the two cultures I truly admire.  The colors and artistry are true to Mexico, and I will continue to support local craftsmen whenever possible.

Whether it be in SMA or here in Manzanillo, I love sharing my life and my experiences with others who live to explore.  Mi casa es tu casa.  I hope you love and appreciate it as much as I do!
